The American Socialist Movement is Present Today
The American Socialist Movement is Evidenced by the Economics of Ronald Reagan.
There is an American socialist present in each of the agencies within our government.
The debate continues today as it has in the past exactly what type of government we have in America.
When trying to answer this question you will get as many answers as there is days in the year.
Why is it important for people to understand the different beliefs in government rule?
By understanding the different beliefs people can have a better feel for what to expect from the government that controls our lives in so many ways.
Looking back Ronald Reagan was one of the great American Socialist, but many can only understand this comment when they take a closer look into Reaganomics.
During this period of time the tax changes that occurred ended up helping those who needed needing it the least.
This was the wealthy and the big corporations that really benefited from the tax changes.
It was felt that the changes would help the economy and lower the deficit. By giving the tax breaks to corporations it was felt that this would open up more jobs for people.
Good Intentions Gone Bad
What actually happened when these tax breaks were put into effect was that an increase in the deficit took place by 2.5%.
As far as helping the American people, it would be determined by the size of your pocket book whether it helped you or not.
To understand what the term American socialist means one must define socialism.
Socialism refers to the belief in a set of economic theories of societal organization that advocates public or state ownership and administration of production as well as distribution of goods and wealth.
Socialism is characterized by a belief in equality for all individuals, with a fair method of compensation.
The difference between fascism and socialism is that fascism is not characterized by a belief in equality for all individuals.
As an American socialist, President Reagan‚ ideas were based in good intentions. His idea was that by helping businesses more would be available to the American public as a whole.
Is it Good or is it Bad?
Remember, the tax cuts that were received were meant to open more jobs and decrease the deficit.
President Reagan was not a saint during his terms, but he did what he thought would help people even though it back fired.
Surely though the changes made didn’t hurt him either by helping big corporations and the wealthy.
Will we see our current president present some of the same ideas? Some feel that we already have.
Socialism has many different meanings for many different people. It also has different offshoots from the general belief.
It is not National Socialism and it should not be confused with those philosophies.
With no concrete philosophy of a fixed doctrine and programs it is left wide open for debate and issues of concern. One offshoot in belief is the theory of equality for all individuals.
Not in the racist sense of the belief but in the economical sense of individual hierarchy and distribution of wealth.
Unfortunately, socialism in its purest sense is something that can be corrupted as long as you have people in government that are corrupt.
