Should Business Codes of Ethics be Put into Place?
America Still Lacks Business Codes of Ethics, But Such Codes Are Required For Other Professionals.
Currently in the United States, doctors and lawyers are required to take an oath and abide by a professional code of ethics.
Although, those fields are the most unethical of them all. When do doctors prescribe more exercise and healthy eating rather than a drug?
Debate continues, however, about whether or not business professionals should be required to abide by professional codes of ethics as well.
The lack of ethical standards prescribed to a profession that so pervasively influences other professions bears frightening implications.
Especially in the United States, these implications have been brought to bear on the ever-growing free market model.
The proliferation of the American capitalist business model is a competitive model that, after a critical population was reached, pushed the majority to the bottom.
To compound the problem, nothing precludes businesses from being run by government officials with the appropriate clout to open channels of capital.
Business codes of ethics are necessary to curb the enthusiasm of businesses and government from forming partnerships that benefit themselves at the expense of the people.
Service industries like medicine have thrived on the free market model, until business began to control medical practice through insurance coverage and manipulation of the drug wars.
Business practice in the United States is not designed to serve the people, and without business codes of ethics, exploitation is likely to continue until the country is enslaved to itself.

The Government and Business
The most large-scale example of abuse of power by the government and businesses is the War on Terror.
Through this war that can never be won, the American government has engineered a business out of war at the expense of both the emotions and the finances of the people.
Government contracts to Halliburton and its subsidiaries pull government money into a private company that was run by Dick Cheney.
The Carlyle Group manufactures combat equipment that makes the Bush family more money as the war drags on.
These operations require money that is first borrowed from the Federal Reserve, and then repaid with taxpayer dollars. There is nothing illegal about it, in part because America still lacks business codes of ethics.
Having ethics codes in place would not necessarily stop unethical business practices, but at least it would put in place some policies that would make unethical behavior objectionable, punishable, and, in the case of elected officials, impeachable.
Who Wrote this?
The question of who should write business codes of ethics is important.
Experts in the field of business are necessary if the oaths are to reflect the understanding of the profession from a firsthand perspective. However, experts with vested interests should be avoided.
Politicians, in other words, should have a limited role in the drafting of ethics guidelines.
Their interests should always be considered to be vested, as America’s representative democracy has degenerated into a power struggle for who can manage to reach a position in which he or she can serve his or her own interests best.
Whoever it is that writes the business ethics codes, the people need to have the opportunity to read them and vote on them. When they receive this opportunity, they need to actually do it.
Business is a part of every American’s life. America cannot afford popular divestment on this issue.
The lack of ethics codes for businesses has long left loopholes open for anyone lacking enough in his or her own natural ethics to exploit them.
The issue will not go away, but without the power of the people behind these codes, they will have no effect. In effect, these codes must be written by the people, for the people.
Or the people should raise their children with morals, and let the free market system determine who is ethical and moral to work with.
When it comes to issues like these, many think they can look to the BBB or other organizations to determine who is legitimate. However, the BBB itself is one of the most corrupt organizations we’ve come across.
Hence the reason you won’t find Debt to Success System BBB membership. We recruit and test our workers to be sure they have ethics and morals.
