Censorship and Mass Media are Essentially the Same Thing

Censorship and Mass Media Combine in an Unholy Union to Restrict Information Access.

Censorship and mass media go hand-in-hand.

The mainstream news outlets may offer non-stop coverage of world affairs, but watching one of the major news channels it quickly becomes obvious to even the most casual observer that the same stories are being told over and over.

In just 15 minutes, Americans can hear all about the latest updates on the stock market, Britney Spears, and the US Airways flight that sunk in the Hudson.

Russia and the Ukraine are at each others’ throats, Iran is launching satellites, and Pakistani mosques are being bombed, but thankfully it seems that Britney and K-Fed have come to a custody arrangement so she can go on tour.

That’s the kind of thing that makes headline news these days. If Americans want real news, they have to hunt for it.

Once citizens of the United States could trust their news outlets, but now to get real, actual news Americans must scour the blogosphere, tune in to talk radio, and subscribe to specialty magazines.

The dominance of censorship and mass media on information available to the American has created an odd situation, the world is happening out there, but it’s not approved for domestic viewers.

Domestic hot button issues like abortion, global warming, and the economy are also heavily edited for content before being aired. And that’s just the way the censors like it by controlling the facts they can control the public and can advance their own agendas.

The Illusion of an Informed Society

By offering non-stop news coverage of current events, the government and mainstream media create the illusion of an informed society, and yet the reality of censorship and mass media being one and the same means that Americans hear more and more about less and less.

Instead of protesting this situation, politicians and corporations embrace it and use it to their advantage. A population that gets the majority of its news through television screens can be easily manipulated with sound bites.

Spin doctors ensure that the truth never hits the airwaves, and most Americans believe whatever is fed to them through the boob tube. It seems like all the information that could ever be wanted is right there in front of citizen’s faces.

Probe deeper, however, and one finds the blocked access, missing facts, and deliberate misinformation of a never-ending mind control campaign.

Try discovering who owns the Federal Reserve, the exact amount of the national debt, or the real impact of global warming. Hours later, the truth will still be hidden, even from the most dedicated hunters.

Fight Censorship and Mass Media

The only way out of this illusion is to fight censorship and mass media at every turn. Turn off the mainstream media and seek objective truth.

Don’t be distracted by reality TV, celebrity news, and the hundreds of other fluff pieces that dominate the information landscape. They are merely red herrings to keep Americans from looking at the real issues facing this country.

Insist on hearing nothing but the facts, gathered by real people actually at the scene. Demand to watch unedited video and real-time coverage. Read carefully for what is written and what is deleted.

Speak out loudly and continually when it is clear censorship is happening. Break up the union between censors and reporters Americans deserve free and unfettered access to facts and information, not viewer approved sound bites of fluff.
