Health care activism is one of the most important civic duties that American citizens today can undertake. 

The health care system is in dire need of reform. 

The system is inherently flawed when the people who can afford to pay for it get health care, while low-income people who work hard must suffer through medical problems without getting effective medical care. 

Likewise, it’s a flawed system when a person could be rear-ended by an uninsured motorist, and be forced to file bankruptcy because of mounting medical bills caused by someone else’s negligence. 

Health care isn’t universally available, and the quality of health care varies significantly between low-income and high-income individuals. 

People who don’t make as much money should still be able to access the same level of treatment, and should still have the option of taking important medications that can help control and prevent medical issues. 

Health care activism is a much-needed niche in today’s world. 

With a government promoting unequal HMOs and a universal health care system that borders on socialism, it’s important for health care activists to step forward and speak up so that the health care system gets the reform that it needs.

Health Care Reform is Much-Needed

In a world where a low-income mother is forced to watch her infant slowly linger and die because she can’t afford to take her child to a more expensive hospital, health care reform is long overdue. 

Everyone should have access to comparable health care; not just the rich, or the people who can afford expensive, high-end health insurance that pays for the most expensive hospitals. 

Children shouldn’t die because the health care system doesn’t treat everyone equally.

Adults shouldn’t be forced to file bankruptcy to deal with medical bills for necessary medical care, and find themselves unable to keep a roof over their children’s heads. 

Health care activism can step in and fill that gap. Health care activists promote health care reform; a reform that’s far overdue.

Doctors shouldn’t charge five times as much for the same services in two different hospitals a block apart.

Individuals shouldn’t have to forgo health care because it’s too expensive.

Presidential Health Care Reform is the Prelude to Socialism

The type of health care reform that the presidential administration proposes isn’t the type of health care reform that is going to benefit American citizens.

The health care reforms that are currently proposed are merely the prelude to socialism. 

The current presidential administration proposes universal health coverage, yes, but on a public system.

The president proposes that everyone pays exorbitant taxes to cover everyone else’s medical procedures, and give everyone equally poor service. 

That’s not the type of health system reform that Americans need.

Health care activism can step in and offer feedback to the government, and show the administration the types of changes that it would like to see. 

The right kind of health care reform wouldn’t include the government control of health care services; it would include some other way for people to receive universal health care coverage. 

Likewise, with the right health care reform in place, health care shouldn’t cost the exorbitantly high prices that people see every day; it should be affordable and cost-effective, instead of forcing Americans to spend an arm and a leg on health care coverage.
