The history of democracy in America has its roots in fabrication and deception.

Americans have been led to believe that democracy is part of our governmental heritage.

In fact, the founders of our country established a constitutional republic.

The redefining of this republic as a democracy is one of the most treacherous and potentially lethal blows that America has ever suffered.

Both the republic and democracy have their roots in ancient Greece.

Both political systems had the absence of a king in common.

They differed in that democracies allowed qualified voters to meet together and enact all laws and decisions directly for the state, whereas republics allowed qualified voters to elect representatives who would enact laws and make decisions for the state.

Even at this early phase of ancient history, the failures and unstable nature of democracy had been revealed.

After American colonies declared their independence from Britain, they established their own individual governments that incorporated democratic standards for qualifying voters.

This democratic act just about caused the death of the original infant nation.

At the 1787 convention that led to the writing of our Constitution, the failure of democracy as a political system was evident.

America was established as a republic in order to protect its people from runaway governmental power and emotional majority impulsivity.

The History of Democracy in America: Our Republic Treacherously Redefined

By the 20th century, the lie that the founding fathers had established a democracy for America began to spread.

This was mostly fuelled by President Woodrow Wilson who appealed to our nation to make the world safe for democracy at the onset of World War I.

The war department training manual exemplifies this redefining period.

In 1928, it set out to show the apparent weaknesses of democracy when compared with a republic.

This training manual went as far as to highlight the founder’s cautionary counsel concerning the dangers of democracy and the lessons that could be learnt through the history of democracy.

By 1952, the manual was proclaiming the praises of democracy instead of warning against it. Why did this redefining take place?

Robert Welch was one amongst many voices that warned against the distortion of basic governmental definitions.

He warned us that powerful forces were in operation to convert our republic into a democracy so that eventually a totalitarian dictatorship would become a reality.

These powerful forces are still in operation today and have gained momentum.

The history of democracy in America has been fabricated and distorted. It is not too late to save America from her tyrannical fate.

We have to stop propagating the democratic lie. America was never intended to be run as a democracy.

Let’s educate ourselves and hold our deceitful leaders accountable for their falsehood.
