American Secondary Education


The American Secondary Education System is Ineffective. Its Only Goal is to Create Graduates Who Understand They Must Embrace Obedience Rather Than Critical Thinking.


There is a great deal of disparity in the American secondary education system.

Far too often, boys are allowed to fall through the cracks while the girls are learning. Our system of education favors those who follow rules rather than think.

So in most cases, more girls than boys are prepared to go to college, and it is hurting our society.

Boys seem to be slower learners and are not as motivated to go to college or graduate from high school.

Some of them will choose gangs or low paying jobs, just to get by and find an excuse for not going to college.

In another scenario, schools have a prominence of being more local than national because they are controlled by local elected officials and superintendents, and a high percentage of the funding comes from property taxes.

This allows decentralization of schools compared to those schools that are in other countries. Many foreign schools have a Ministry of Education.

They control the curriculum, hire qualified teachers and facilitate the learning process.

Even though these schools overseas are partially governed by the government and church, in the United States, the Constitution mandates a separation of church and state and makes it mandatory for schools to comply.

In the United States, there are charter schools, private schools and home schools as well as strong parochial schools with a large Catholic base. 

The children enrolled in these institutions, however, is a small minority.



Who is Running your Schools?

American secondary education is locally controlled and this is rhetoric to silence of the Constitution and a deep cultural dislike of centralization. There are no other places where public schools are operated by local school boards.

What this means is that the people who are involved with educational affairs often comprised of local businesses and professionals because these are the people who have the time, money and resources to run for these elected offices.

Schools in America are run different from those in other countries because a lot of their revenue comes from the local community because the federal government only contributes seven percent of the revenue and only do so for special programs.

These specific programs may include school lunches, training, aid for districts located on military bases that don’t depend on funding from property taxes and programs for the disabled.

The way the American secondary education is operated attracts influence from interest groups and property owners who pay taxes in the community.


Extra Curriculum

A lot of people may think that the school system in America is only set up to teach reading, writing, math, history, English and other specialized subjects. However, that is not the case. There are extra curricular activities involved such as football, soccer, basketball, baseball and other sports.

Then there are the socially accepted activities such as prom-night, homecoming and a congregation of peer groups such as fraternities. A lot of these agendas are unnecessary and only serve as a distraction from what is really important.

The American secondary education provides a lot of social events that may prevent the student from staying with their educational goals, but trying to please their peers more than anything else.
