There are many different types of censorship that go on in the United States; moral censorship, political censorship, cultural censorship, and creative censorship all occur more often than people like to think.

Most of the time the reason that people don’t realize how much censorship is occurring is because the media is also censored. Media censorship doesn’t come from the government or from laws prohibiting the media from covering certain kinds of stories.

Finding censorship documentation can be very difficult when the media ignores any kind of censorship documentation and doesn’t want ordinary citizens to find out about it.

Censorship of the media comes from the media outlets themselves and the large corporations that own those media outlets. More than 90% of the mainstream media outlets in the US including TV, radio, and print are owned by just a handful of large corporations.

And who owns those large corporations? Global elite families that have been controlling the media for decades use their media holdings to make sure they control what information is given to the citizens of the US.

Media is arguably the most important tool in shaping culture so by controlling the media these global elite families can control the culture.

But there are some people who refuse to accept the lies handed out by the mainstream media and refuse to ignore censorship documentation that exists.

Independent writers, journalists, filmmakers, and radio hosts are standing up to the mainstream media and using all of the censorship documentation they can find to show the US people how the media censors the information that is released.

Using the Internet these independent artists are creating videos, films, blogs, websites, and other new media that contain the uncensored news and information the mainstream media won’t touch on the orders of the global elite.

Clamping Down on Indie Artists

Many independent artists have been able to show the world exactly how much censorship documentation exists and the hundreds of ways US citizens and citizens around the world are exploited and manipulated by the global elite.

Large corporations and the mainstream press have made many attempts to clamp down on the Internet as a free speech zone and get control over these indie artists to make it harder for them to get the real facts out to the public.

One of the most devious ways the global elite has been using to try to put an end to the free flow of information online is by putting political and financial pressure on politicians to pass a bill that would eliminate Net Neutrality and allow big cable and phone conglomerates to control the information that their users have access to online.

The End of Freedom Online?

Net Neutrality is used to refer to a free Internet where users can go where they like, visit the websites they want, and move freely online without any kind of restriction.

Most Internet users are fighting hard to keep the Internet free of restricted access despite the politicians who are working to end Net Neutrality.

Already some big cable companies like Comcast freely admit that they limit what sites their users have access to. Did you know that if you use Comcast Internet service you are automatically blocked from having access to certain sites?

It’s true, and there is documentation provided by the company to prove it. Why would Comcast limit access to Websites?

There are several reasons that are given as public reasons for the fight to end Net Neutrality but there are also hidden reasons that the big cable companies and phone companies don’t want to admit to.

Why the Big Corporations Hate Net Neutrality

The biggest unspoken reason why companies like Comcast want to end Net Neutrality is the competition.

If their customers can’t access sites for companies that offer competing services like VOIP phone service, movie downloads, or free chat and webcam applications then their customers will have no choice but to use Comcast services.

They want to lock up those customers and make them dependent on Comcast services instead of giving them outside options.

The stated reason that companies like Comcast want to get rid of Net Neutrality is because they want to implement a tiered fee structure where customers would need to pay more to get access to heavy use sites like video or music download sites or TV channels.

Greed plays a huge role in the fight to end Net Neutrality but at the end of the day the fight is really about access. Just like so many other areas of society the global elite want to create a hierarchy where only the rich have access to information.
