Google Helps Big Brother?
Americans Don’t Suspect How Google Helps Big Brother Monitor Their Movements, Illnesses and Homes.
Most Americans have no idea how much Google helps Big Brother spy on them.
If they put their brains on and paid attention it would be fairly obvious, especially as Google is very proud to be helping in many cases.
Instead, most Americans like to live in the bubble where Google is absolutely true to their mantra of “Don’t Be Evil” and would absolutely never subject Americans to unauthorized searches or share their private data with government authorities.
Well, wake up people. It’s reality time now.
Go out to Google right now and download a little program (okay, actually it’s a huge program bandwidth eating monster!) called Google Earth.
All installed? Now look up a house, any house… maybe even the one called home. Like how it looks?
Some users report that they can even read the plate numbers on the cars parked in their driveways, and see open doors and windows where their home lives are exposed to the world.
Still don’t believe Google helps Big Brother?
Google Helps Monitor the Flu
If seeing a satellite image of the houses on the block isn’t scary, try out the new agreement where Google helps Big Brother monitor disease.
They do this by monitoring search numbers for specific keyword phrases.
Realizing that the first thing many Americans do when they are sick is Google the disease, the Center for Disease Control has launched a new partnership with Google.
All through cold and flu season, Google will share search results with the CDC.
So much for privacy on the web! Google gives the search terms, IP addresses and other locating information about users to the CDC.
And if it works well for the flu, they are planning to use it for other diseases.
What? Not comfortable with Google sharing private search data with the government? Too bad!
The Private is Public Now
In a world where Google helps Big Brother find out whatever is needed, citizens’ rights are routinely being violated and it isn’t safe.
Planning a vacation? GoogleMaps will help find the destination… and share that information with others.
Don’t like the idea of road trip maps being shared?
That’s not the worst of it! Even the flight path of a plane can be mapped out to the actual degree of ascent using some of the Google tools.
Isn’t all of this technology wonderful?
Now all that information from billions of searches and an equal number of satellite photos can be analyzed to monitor the public anytime of the day or night.
It’s only a small step from monitoring to controlling the population. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an easy solution.
At the moment, it seems the best citizens can do to defend themselves against this kind of partnership is stay informed and unplug where ever possible.
