The one true fact about global warming is that it doesn’t exist.

The global-warming bandwagon is politically motivated, has nothing to do with science, and could affect the sovereignty of the United States.

Vaclav Klaus, president of the Czech Republic, addressed an audience of doubters of the man-made climate change theory at the second International Conference on Climate Change recently in NYC.

The two-and-a-half day conference titled, “Global warming: Was it ever really a crisis?” featured a number of speakers from the political and scientific communities and was billed as the world’s largest-ever gathering of global warming skeptics. That is a fact about global warming.

Czech Republic President Vaclav Klaus is one of the most outspoken critics of manmade global warming in Europe and states that those who propagate global-warming hysteria are like the communists of old Europe.

Like global-warming alarmists, the communists did not listen to opposing views. Klaus believes that politicians who propagate global warming hysteria only have one goal in mind: control of the public.

Dr. Klaus, an economist by education, has been a very outspoken voice in expressing his doubts and is known not to mince words.

He has strong words for those he called “alarmists” saying they, “are interested neither in temperature, carbon dioxide, competing scientific hypotheses and their testing, nor in freedom or markets… they are interested in their businesses and their profits–made with the help of politicians.”

“It is evident that the environmentalists don’t want to change the climate,” he said. “They want to change our behavior… to control and manipulate us.”

He warns that those same politicians wish to engage in energy rationing, all because of a problem that he believes does not exist.

”The environmentalists speak about saving the planet.” “We have to ask … from what … and from whom?” said the EU leader. “I think I know for sure … we have to save the planet, and us, from them.”

Continuing, Klaus cast doubt on the very science that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) bases its predictions of global climate disaster on.

He said they are, “not able to explain why the global temperature increased from 1918 to 1940, decreased from 1940 to 1976, increased from 1976 to 1998, and decreased from 1998 to the present, irrespective of the fact that the people have been adding increasing amounts of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.”

Another scientist, Dr. Richard Lindzen, who has been Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Meteorology at MIT for over 25 years states that the global warming hysteria is more about a political agenda and has nothing to do with science.

The MIT professor, one of the world’s most respected atmospheric physicists, states that many of his good friends and colleagues have subscribed to global warming alarmism because they either fear for their jobs or see it as a way to get funding for scientific projects.

Lindzen’s speech focused on the difficulty that climate change doubters have in getting their message out and how many in the scientific community, while having doubts, simply go along with global warming alarmists as it, “just makes their lives easier.”

He believes that the politicizing of the issue had, “an extraordinarily corrupting influence on science, especially since the issue has been a major motivation for funding.”

Lindzen states that the climate models are an example of “unintelligent design” and contends that they are being fed erroneous information in order to get the results that global-warming alarmists want.

He said those that doubt the man-made climate change theory are, “limited by the minimal resources available to rectify the present situation.”

“That said, one should not underestimate the impressive degree of organization behind the climate alarm movement.”

Lindzen ended his comments saying: “Moreover, the temperature record does demonstrate at least one crucial point: namely, that natural climate variability remains sufficiently large to preclude the identification of climate change with anthropogenic forcing.”

“As the IPCC AR4 noted, the attribution claim, however questionable, was contingent on the assumption that models had adequately handled this natural internal variability.

The temperature record of the past 14 years clearly shows that this assumption was wrong.”

“To be sure, this period constitutes a warm period in the instrumental record, and, as a result, many of the years will be among the warmest in the record, but this does nothing to mitigate the model failure to show continued warming.

To claim otherwise betrays either gross ignorance or grosser dishonesty.”

Another speaker, Dr. Michael Coffman, CEO of Sovereignty International, an U.N. watchdog organization explained that the basis of his skepticism regarding global warming comes from research he himself has conducted.

“During the 1980s and early 1990s, I led a multimillion-dollar research effort on global warming and found that the data that was being collected just didn’t support the hypothesis that man was causing global warming,” says Coffman.

“Any amount of money that we spend on it is not going to change any temperatures whatsoever,” he observes, arguing that every family in America will be affected.

“Because depending upon what legislation is passed, it will actually cause every American family to spend at least two- to five-thousand dollars more a year… to try to support this effort to curb carbon-dioxide emissions.”

Coffman warns that politicians are moving towards having an international tribunal established which will regulate carbon emissions.

“Which means basically since carbon dioxide is involved in all elements of business in the United States, …whoever does this controls the economy of the United States, and therefore our sovereignty,” he cautions.

When it comes to global warming mania, neither ignorance nor dishonesty has been in short supply.
